Class Descriptions

Ballet

Ballet is rich in history and is one of the most artistic and classical forms of dance.  Ballet is precise, graceful, structured, and provides a strong base for other dance forms.  Ballet students learn discipline, technique, terminology, history, and artistry. *Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes required.

Jazz

Jazz is an upbeat style of dance that combines technique from ballet and modern.  Our jazz classes will provide strong technique and fun elements of self-expression. *Dancewear or athletic wear required.

Acro

Acro classes combine tumbling movements with dance technique.  Acro teaches strength, flexibility, control, and helps dancers incorporate exciting elements seamlessly into dance routines. *Dancewear or athletic wear required.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a fun, fast-paced dance style based in street and urban movement.  Hip hop includes a wide range of movement including breaking, popping, locking, and self-expression. *Dancewear and tennis shoes required.

Tap

Tap teaches rhythm, timing, footwork, and brings an upbeat, exciting dance style to our program.  Tap is included in our Energetic Explorers, Elementary, and Jr. High/High School programs.  *Black tap shoes required.

Contemporary

Contemporary is based in creative, unique movement.  It has foundations in ballet, jazz, modern, and improvisation. Students love contemporary for its expressive, exploring, emoting qualities. *Dancewear or athletic wear required.

Pre-pointe

Pre-pointe is a class for dancers who would like to go en pointe, or who would like to increase their ballet foundation.  Classes include exercises in foot, ankle, and core strength, as well as artistry and flexibility. *Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes required.

Pointe

Pointe is for dancers who demonstrate the strength and technical ability to dance en pointe. Dancers must be evaluated before getting their pointe shoes.

Turns and Leaps

Turns and leaps is a technical class focusing on exercises and combinations to advance these specific aspects of dance.  *Dancewear or athletic wear required.

Stretch and Strength

Strength and Flexibility are two key aspects in all styles of dance.  Dancers will focus on exercises in conditioning, endurance, and stretching. *Dancewear or athletic wear, and tennis shoes required.
